i know.....i know......i should have been using better connectors......true, no doubt, but in this case it wouldnt have made a difference - the Tamiya connectors themselves were not the cause. the wire running from one of the connectors on the "Y" adapter (used so i cauld run 2 6cell packs ( 14.4v )) was pretty thin - thinner than the wire used for the other 2 connectors - so the fire started right at the point where i had the wire from the 2 connectors soldered together, melting off the electrical tape, leaving the "-" and "+" exposed, they touched, causing a "short circuit" and all the wire between that tamiya connector and the point of the short circuit was glowing red, with molten insulation and electrical tape drippin off.- the battery on that connector got toasted too, hahaha. the short circuit actually ended by its self, cuz the glowing red wire started faling off, breaking the short curcuit. once it ended, i disconnected that battery, removed my partially crisped "y" connector, and kept on running with the remaining battery ! :-)

it goes without saying that the "y" adapter has been rebuilt with much thicker wire - all around - no "weak" points

If u email me, and please feel free to do so, include a reference to RC or this site in the "SUBJECT". i get alot of spam, so if i see a strange email address with no subject, or a subject that says "hi" or "hello", etc, im not going to read it - so u need to say something in the subject that makes it clear to me that your message isnt spam. ndumu@hotmail.com
