The body ( which i got from a motorized Tonka truck - $26 at KB Toys- pics HERE ) is way up threre, huh? Well, it was either that or cut it up tryin to clear the front tires - its the price we RCers pay for having suspension travel that far exceeds what they would have if the amount adhered to "scale" - lol, and whats worst is that i think it still rubs if the suspension is fully compressed - so its needs to be mounted even higher......lol, go figure.

Moving on...........this is the second mutation of my Traxxas Stampede - CLICK HERE - to see the first mutation.

Red headlights? they do light up, as do the lights on the rollbar, but red headlights have got to go!

To the "nitty gritty" lol.............the "rearend" (tranny, rear suspension, etc) is from a Traxxas Stampede. the skidplate/rear bumper is from a rc10 buggy, the rear shocks are from an rc10t2 - the "frontend" (steering setup, front suspension, etc) is from a Losi jr2 buggy or jrt truck - im not sure which because the Losi vehicle, which i got from ebay, appeared to have parts from both - could have been a jr2 buggy with jrt wheels...who knows, lol - the chassis is also from the Losi vehicle, but i removed all of the "bracing/webbing" from the rear half of the chassis, to provide a smnooth mounting surface. after my mods this thing had a wheelbase of about 8-1/4 inches, but i allowed the chassis plate to run all the way to the back of the tranny, making it easy to increase the wheelbase if i so desired. Turned out to be a great idea on my part, lol, because i had to increase the wheelbase to about 9-1/4 inches to fit the jeep wrangler body. Increased chassis flex came along with the longer wheelbase, so the small piece of white plastic was used to stiffen the chassis - under that white plastic, the black Losi chassis plate is only as wide as the tranny, so the larger piece of white plastic under the small piece is there as a place to mount the battery pack (or PACKS - i swap some bolts and 2 packs fit just fine..............."who wan com tes me !? " hehehe:-) which sits inbetween the 2 sets of long bolts.

Specs.......Kyosho Mega 360 motor (essentially a Magnetic Mayhem, but older, with a different endbell - so still gobs of torque! geared with a 18t 48p pinion, and 84t 48p spur, it pulled crazy wheelies from a standstill - ending up on its back, lol - this was before i put on the rear skidplate, or increased the wheelbase to 9-1/4 inches - so we'll have to see if the frontend will still "reach for the sky". When i increased the wheelbase i also moved the battery forward a bit, cuz even in the rare instances the front tires were on the ground, the truck understeered severely. Im currently using a Tekin Pro Pulse 700 esc, but i miss reverse, so it will be swapped out in a day or 2 for a Futaba mc210 or a Tekin rebel. id rather use the rebel, but my Clod may not want to give it up, lol

the next day.......

like it? lol, thats a "grave digger" body that fell victim to my madness - i might paint it.......i might not......lol, i might just cover it with duct tape and call it a day......."who wan come tes me !? " lol

Clod gave up the tekin rebel, lol, so now neopede has it.....told u i needed reverse......lol......on to the videos!

neopede1.mpg - ok, its coming down.....no, its going back up ! lol

neopede2.mpg - watch it "fullscreen"( "blow it up")

neopede3.mpg- put up your volume, listen closely

neopede4.mpg - unleash the beast.....lol
